Mountain Road visibility and safety improvements

We’ve had residents raise concerns about visibility on the bend near the top of the hill when vehicles are parked in this area. This can make it hard for drivers travelling uphill to see oncoming traffic.

Following a site assessment, we are installing broken yellow lines (no stopping at all times) on the inside of the bend.

By December 2026, we will:

• install 44m of broken yellow lines (no stopping at all times) on the inside of the bend around 41 Mountain Road
• improve access and reallocate road space by removing 8 on‑street parking spaces.

These changes will:

• make it easier to see around the bend
• provide safer passing space for vehicles
• support safer traffic flow.

It will take one day to paint the road markings in good weather conditions.
