Walking and busOverview
We plan to make it safer to walk on Metcalfe Road by installing a footpath link near bus stop 5760. The footpath will provide safe, easy and well-connected walking options in your neighbourhood.
This project is part of the Local Board Transport Capital Funding reallocation from the Henderson-Massey Local Board.
In early 2027, we plan to:
- install a new footpath, kerb and channels on the southern side of Metcalfe Road between 232 Metcalfe Road (opposite 235 Metcalfe Road) and 220 Metcalfe Road
- install new pedestrian refuge islands outside 220 Metcalfe Road and 230 Metcalfe Road
- paint no stopping at all times (broken yellow lines) and bus line markings between 217 Metcalfe Road and 247 Metcalfe Road to ensure visibility for motorists.
There will be a net loss of 16 car parking spaces.
