Overview

We're planning changes to parking on Hallberry Road to improve access and make it easier for vehicles to move safely through the street and around the cul-de-sac turning area.

Auckland Transport has received concerns from residents about parking around the cul-de-sac turning head and access issues along the narrow end of Hallberry Road.

To address these concerns, we propose installing broken yellow lines (no stopping at all times) on the southern side of Hallberry Road and around the cul-de-sac turning head. This will formalise parking on one side of the road while retaining all existing legal parking spaces.

Project benefits

Improved access

Parking on one side of the road will provide more space for residents, visitors and service vehicles to move through the street.

Easier vehicle movement

Clearer road space will help vehicles enter, exit and turn around more easily, including rubbish collection and emergency vehicles

Better operation of the cul-de-sac

No stopping lines around the turning head will improve vehicle manoeuvrability while retaining all existing legal parking spaces.

Project background

Parking on both sides of the road can make it difficult for vehicles to enter, exit, and turn around safely. This can affect residents, rubbish collection trucks, and emergency services. Access becomes more limited during events at the nearby sports fields when more vehicles park on the street.
