Overview

There is currently no dedicated pedestrian crossing at Church Crescent and Sunset View Road, making it difficult for residents, parents with children, bus passengers, and people visiting the church to cross the road safely.

To improve safety and accessibility, we're proposing changes to both Church Crescent and Sunset View Road.

At Church Crescent we plan to:

  • install a new pedestrian refuge crossing near the bus stop, including pram ramps
  • install new road markings and signs to support the crossing
  • move the bus stop onto the road, with space for vehicles to safely pass stopped buses using the flush median
  • build a kerb build-out at the northbound bus stop, widening the footpath around the stop
  • install broken yellow lines (no stopping at all times).

At Sunset View Road we plan to:

  • install a new two-stage raised zebra crossing with kerb build-out and refuge islands
  • install new road markings and signs to support the crossing
  • install a new footpath with berm removal to support the crossing.

We will need to remove 11 on-street parking spaces to make space for these safety improvements.
