Shadwell Place and West Tamaki Road visibility improvements

We’re planning to make changes at the intersection of Shadwell Place and West Tamaki Road to improve visibility and safety for all road users.

We have received requests from the community about visibility issues at this intersection. Vehicles parked close to the corners can make it difficult for drivers exiting Shadwell Place to see approaching traffic on West Tamaki Road.

The changes we’re making by December 2026:

• extending the broken yellow lines (no stopping at all times) and associated road markings on West Tamaki Road near the intersection with Shadwell Place
• removing one parking space to improve visibility and access.

These changes will improve visibility and safety at the intersection by making it easier to see approaching traffic.
