DrivingOverview
We’re proposing to convert 3 general parking spaces on Crown Street, Royal Oak, into a heavy motor vehicle parking area.
This would improve access and provide a safe, legal place for delivery trucks serving nearby businesses to park.
We’ve received requests to improve the overall parking and access for delivery trucks that service local businesses. Deliveries can only be made between 8am and 3pm, and with no designated waiting area, trucks sometimes stop illegally while waiting to access loading zones. This can affect access and traffic flow on Crown Street.
What we’re proposing:
- Convert 3 general parking spaces into a P30 heavy motor vehicle parking area on the northwest side of Crown Street, next to 698 Mount Albert Road.
- This would operate Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. Outside these hours, the spaces will be unrestricted.
- Extend broken yellow lines outside 698 Mount Albert Road to improve driveway visibility and safety. This will mean removing one parking space.
