What we’re proposing
- Installing a new signalised mid-block pedestrian crossing at Ōrākei Road and Tonks Street, activated only when people press the button to cross.
- Upgrading the existing Tonks Street bus stop 7767 with a kassel kerb to make boarding and exiting buses easier and safer.
- Removing the kerb indent and relocating bus stop 7776 and the bus shelter near Martyn Wilson Fields about 40m closer to the roundabout.
- Building a new kerb build out and upgrading the kerb ramp at the Ōrākei Road and Tonks Street intersection.
- Carrying out minor tree trimming to allow space for the relocated bus shelter.
