Sylvia Road, Hillcrest Proposed Sunday parking changes

Auckland Transport (AT) plans to remove 2 “No Parking on Sunday” signs on Sylvia Road, Hillcrest, following community requests. One sign is outside 12 Sylvia Road and the other is outside 26 Sylvia Road.

These signs have been in place for some time. However, based on the information currently available, they do not appear to have been formalised as legal parking controls. We plan to remove them by November 2026.

Recent site observations show that parking demand is high on weekdays during school pick-up and drop-off times. These observations indicate that parking on both sides of the road causes only minor congestion, which clears quickly.

As parking is available at other times, there does not appear to be a clear need for a Sunday parking restriction.
