We’re making improvements along Tāmaki Drive after hearing from the community about a missing footpath between 19 Tāmaki Drive and bus stop 7321.
At the moment, this gap makes it harder and less safe for people to walk to public transport and nearby amenities.
We are planning to build a new footpath connecting Tāmaki Drive with Kitemoana Street.
These changes will improve accessibility, safety and connections for people walking and using the bus in the area.
The changes we’re making by October 2026
- Building a connection from 19 Tāmaki Drive to bus stop 7321 - this will involve minor tree trimming.
- Minor bus stop upgrades which include updating bus stop markings and installing tactile pavers - these are yellow guidance paving markers to help with accessibility to and from the bus.
- Painting additional No Stopping At All Times (NSAAT) from 19 Tāmaki Drive to bus stop 7321 location.
- Realigning vehicle access at 19 Tāmaki Drive.
