On-street parking in the city centre
Parking zones in Central Auckland are numbered and colour coded. Zone 1 (blue), zone 3 and 5 (green) and zone 2 and 4 (orange). Different rates apply to each of these zones, with higher rates the closer you get to the city centre.
There are also dedicated mobility parking spaces in the city centre.
How to pay for on-street parking
You do not need to pay if you are parking for less than 10 minutes. For longer stays, pay using the pay by plate machines on the street or the AT Park app.
The pay by plate machines display parking rates and hours of enforcement.
On-street parking fees
See the costs for each of the paid parking zones. There is no charge for stays of less than 10 minutes.
Monday to Friday
8am to 6pm
For the first 2 hours: $7 per hour.
Over 2 hours: $12 per additional hour.
For example — parking for 4 hours will cost $38.
Monday to Friday
6pm to 10pm
For the first 2 hours: $4.50 per hour.
Over 2 hours: $7 per additional hour.
For example — parking for 4 hours will cost $23.
Saturday, Sunday and public holidays
8am to 10pm
For the first 2 hours: $4.50 per hour.
Over 2 hours: $7 per additional hour.
For example — parking for 4 hours will cost $23.
Monday to Friday
8am to 6pm
For the first 2 hours: $5.50 per hour.
Over 2 hours: $9 per additional hour.
For example — parking for 4 hours will cost $29.

Greys Avenue car park is closed to the public from 17 October 2024 until approximately December 2026.
