From Monday 26 May to Friday 10 October 2025, Takaanini Station Park n Ride will be open at a reduced capacity while KiwiRail occupies a section of the facility to support their rail maintenance and upgrade works.

KiwiRail will section off up to 60 car parks out of 284 parking spots of the Park and Ride facility at Takaanini Station for the storage of material and facilities for staff engaged in our Rail Network Rebuild renewals and upgrade work.

Mobility parking and bike shelter access will not be impacted and will be retained in its current location.  

The carparks that will be unavailable to customers are marked in pink in the below map:

Changes to Taka Street access to Park n Ride for pedestrians 

During partial closure, pedestrians will be unable to access the Park n Ride from Taka Street. Signage will detour pedestrian access to the car park via Maru Street.
