Project overview
This project will provide a new North-South transport corridor between Drury and Papakura that improves network resilience to support and integrate with the urban growth in Drury-Ōpāheke, ensuring transport corridors are safe for all users.
This project includes:

A new 3.5km long transport corridor to provide for a four-lane cross section including bus lanes and separate walking and cycling facilities between Hunua Road in the north and Waihoehoe Road in the south.

Localised widening around intersections with existing roads to accommodate for vehicle queuing and tie-ins and active transport facilities/crossings.

Two proposed bridges over Waipokapū Stream and Waihoehoe stream and floodplain.

Increasing connectivity and providing accessibility to public transport functions through planned growth areas.

This project is confirmed and operative in the Auckland Unitary Plan. The designation number that can be used to identify this project is: 1839.
There is currently no funding for detailed design or construction of this project. We anticipate the project will be delivered sometime within the next 20 years in line with Auckland Council's land release strategy.
