Driving and busOverview
We’re planning a new traffic light–controlled (signalised) pedestrian crossing on Glenfield Road, near 24 Glenfield Road, to make it safer and easier for people to cross this busy arterial road.
Glenfield Road carries high traffic volumes and there is currently no formal pedestrian crossing at this location. We’ve heard from the community that crossing here can feel difficult and unsafe, particularly for people walking, using prams or mobility devices, or trying to reach nearby bus stops.
The project responds to community feedback and aims to improve safety, accessibility and access to public transport while ensuring Glenfield Road continues to operate effectively.
Public engagement is open from 7 May to 28 May 2026
Latest updates
We’re inviting the community to share feedback on the proposed signalised pedestrian crossing near 24 Glenfield Road. Engagement is open until 28 May 2026.

Project background
Glenfield Road is a busy arterial route. Traffic lights provide the safest and most reliable way for people to cross while managing traffic flow.
To make space for the new crossing, the northbound bus stop and shelter will be relocated from outside 145 Glenfield Road to outside 141 Glenfield Road. The opposing bus stop will be adjusted to align safely with the crossing.
