DrivingOverview
The Waiheke Local Board asked us to look at ways to keep the roads near the Park Point Coastal Track entrance clear and maintain access, particularly for emergency service vehicles.
Park Point Drive, Cable Bay Lane and Walter Frank Drive are narrow roads. When vehicles are parked on both sides of the road, it can be hard to drive through safely.
Our plan
We plan to paint broken yellow lines (no stopping at all times) on both sides of the roads where they meet.
This will remove:
- 22 legal on-street parking spaces on Cable Bay Lane
- 13 on Park Point Drive
- 28 on Walter Frank Drive.
We understand this may be inconvenient for residents and visitors. The extent of the broken yellow lines is based on the space needed to maintain access and visibility for all road users.
We plan to make the changes by December 2026.
