Dunkirk Road, Caen Road and Kings Road safety improvements

The local community has raised concerns about pedestrian safety for children walking to and from Panmure Bridge School and Panmure Bridge Childcare Centre.

Children cross Dunkirk Road and Caen Road in locations that don't have safe, dedicated crossing points. Vehicle speeds in the area have also been noted as a concern.

To improve safety and accessibility we're planning to:

• install a new raised pedestrian crossing with tactile paving on Dunkirk Road, between Panmure Bridge School and Dunkirk Road playground
• reinstate the existing bus stop just north of the new crossing
• install 2 new speed humps outside 40 and 47 Caen Road, near Panmure Bridge Childcare Centre and Panmure Bridge School
• install new kerb buildouts and an upgraded pram crossing on Caen Road at the Kings Road intersection
• install new broken yellow lines at the Armien Road and Dunkirk Road intersection to improve visibility
• install new broken yellow lines at the Kings Road and Dunkirk Road intersection to improve visibility
• remove 8 on-street parking spaces to make space for these changes.
