Phar Lap Crescent access improvements

Phar Lap Crescent is a narrow road. Auckland Council Waste Solutions have told us rubbish and recycling trucks find it hard to get past parked vehicles.

Our investigations found that parked vehicles can make it hard for large vehicles to pass safely. In some cases, rubbish trucks have had to drive onto the berm to get through. This risks damage to the berm, nearby infrastructure and parked vehicles.

To address this, by November 2026, we plan to:

• paint broken yellow lines (no stopping at all times) on the eastern side of Phar Lap Crescent and on the southern side opposite 14 Phar Lap Crescent
• remove 3 on-street parking spaces.

These changes will:

• improve access for rubbish collection trucks and other large service vehicles
• help lower the risk of damage to the berm, infrastructure and parked vehicles.

It will take one day to paint the road markings in good weather.
