Overview

We’re upgrading a section of Ladies Mile in Manly between Whangapāroa Road and Motutapu Avenue. This will make it stronger, safer and better prepared for bad weather, as part of our Renewals Rehab Programme.

This upgrade is more than just a new road surface – it’s an investment in the future growth of Manly.

The Renewals Rehab Programme is part of our ongoing investment to maintain and improve Auckland's transport network. Our mission is to make roads safer and more reliable and help to keep Auckland moving.

The work will be done in two phases.

Work will include:

  • digging up and rebuilding the road
  • fixing and upgrading drainage
  • kerb and channel improvements
  • laying a strong concrete base
  • testing for quality and durability.

Why this work is important:

  • routine checks showed the road is nearing the end of its lifespan
  • upgrading now will make it safer and prevent future issues
  • this work helps prepare for more growth and traffic in the area.

If you have any queries directly related to the construction, get in touch with Fulton Hogan stakeholder manager Emma Cushnie on 027 532 4305 or at emma.cushnie@fultonhogan.com.

Project benefits

Safer journeys for everyone

A smoother, more reliable road means fewer potholes and safer conditions for all road users – including drivers, cyclists, bus passengers and people walking.

Better stormwater drainage

Upgraded drainage systems will help reduce surface flooding during heavy rain, protecting nearby homes, properties, and the road itself.

Longer-lasting road

By laying a strong concrete foundation beneath the surface, we’re building a road that’s expected to last for the next 20+ years with fewer repairs needed.
