Great South Road (Penrose) safety and traffic improvements

We plan to make changes to 752 Great South Road to improve safety and traffic flow.

Local businesses have raised concerns that parked vehicles reduce road space. The vehicles also force drivers to change lanes unexpectedly, creating safety risks.

To address this issue, we plan to:

• paint 41m of broken yellow lines outside 752 Great South Road, continuing from the existing broken yellow lines to the edge of the current bus stop marking
• clear access and reallocate road space by removing 4 on-street parking spaces. 

These changes will improve safety and traffic efficiency, with minimal impact on nearby businesses that already provide dedicated parking.
