Walking, driving, bus and cyclingOverview
We’re making it safer and easier for people to cross the road at the intersection of Wairere Avenue, Kitenui Avenue, and New North Road, Mt Albert.
We are:
- upgrading and enlarging pedestrian refuge islands at Wairere Avenue and Kitenui Avenue (intersection with New North Road)
- upgrading pram crossings to meet current standards
- beautifying and levelling footpaths.
Changes outside Parkside Cafe include:
- formalising the former bus stop area as parking to provide two new spaces
- introducing a P60 (60 minute) parking restriction, Monday to Sunday. Current clearway hours still apply.
Parking and loading zone changes include:
- repurposing two P30 (30 minute) spaces on Kitenui Avenue outside New World to allow for a Goods Vehicle Loading Zone (GVLZ), operating 8am to 6pm, Monday to Sunday.
- parking will be unrestricted outside these hours, and available for anyone to use.
