Project update

AT’s new bus station, located at Rosedale, will connect more people and businesses with the popular Northern Busway. The project will deliver better public transport and walking and cycling options to and from Rosedale.

With approximately 5,200 people working within walking distance of the new station, the location is expected provide reliable travel options for more than 4,000 people every day.

Funding for the new station comes from Auckland Council and Waka Kotahi’s Public Transport Infrastructure funding programme.

Project details

We are in the final stages of the design phase, with preparations underway for tendering construction partners.

Completed activities

December 2017: Concept design for new station unveiled
January to March 2018: Public and stakeholder consultation
October 2018: AT and Waka Kotahi confirm initial funding
2020: Resource consent granted for new station and Rosedale Road upgrades
2022: NCI Alliance completes busway bridge and some retaining walls for Rosedale bus station
2023: Project handed over from NCI Alliance to AT
2024: Project received by AT, designs reviewed and refined.

Next steps

We are currently in the final design stages for the station.

Construction has been delayed while designs are refined further as the project progresses.
