BusOverview
Rosedale bus station will connect more people and businesses with the popular Northern Busway. It will deliver better public transport and walking and cycling options to and from Rosedale.
There are about 5,200 people working within walking distance of the new station. We expect it to be a reliable travel option for more than 4,000 people every day.
Funding for the new station comes from Auckland Council and Waka Kotahi’s Public Transport Infrastructure funding programme.
This project was originally part of Waka Kotahi NZTA’s Northern Corridor Improvements (NCI) project via the NCI Alliance. The NCI upgraded SH1, SH18, the Constellation Bus Station and Northern Busway extension to Albany stations.
Since 2023 the Rosedale Bus Station project is no longer part of the NCI Alliance. It is being delivered as a standalone project.

Timeline
Construction starting
Construction begins in mid-2026. In this phase we will:
- build the new Rosedale Bus Station
- complete retaining walls
- make temporary road changes on Rosedale Road to support the new bus station
- finish off work from the earlier project.
Before any work takes place, we’ll let nearby residents and businesses know about impacts or disruptions. Changes to this plan will be updated here.
