Location

Patumahoe, Franklin

Transport involved

Walking, driving, bus and cycling

Overview

We want to make it safer and easier for people to walk and cross the road at Woodhouse Road and Patumahoe Road. This is right in the heart of the Patumahoe village centre.

These upgrades form part of the Franklin Targeted Rate Paths Programme — a 10-year partnership between Auckland Council, Auckland Transport (AT), and the Franklin Local Board.

We’re proposing the following changes in the area:

  • install an at‑grade (non‑raised) zebra crossing on Woodhouse Road
  • install an at‑grade (non‑raised) zebra crossing on Patumahoe Road, outside the shops
  • update parking outside the shops, including angle parking and time restrictions
  • improve the footpaths on Woodhouse Road and Patumahoe Road
  • remove 13 on‑street parking spaces.

AT, Franklin Local Board and Auckland Council are working together to prioritise and deliver local safety and accessibility improvements across the Franklin Local Board area. This work is being delivered as part of the Franklin Targeted Rate Paths Programme.
