With a SuperGold concession, seniors can travel free after 9am on weekdays and all day on weekends and public holidays. You must have a SuperGold card to apply.

You must register your gold AT HOP card before applying. If you don’t have one, find out how to buy a gold HOP card.

Concessions are not available with contactless payments. To get SuperGold concession fares, you must travel with your gold AT HOP card.

What you need to know

You will be charged adult fares until your concession is loaded.

To apply, you must present your SuperGold card and another form of identification. For more information about identification, visit Buy a gold AT HOP card.

If your SuperGold concession is not loaded at a customer service centre, it may take up to 10 working days until your concession is available.

You can hold only one gold AT HOP card loaded with a SuperGold concession.

If eligible, you may hold a separate AT HOP card with either a tertiary or accessible concession (under the Total Mobility Scheme).

Apply online

  1. log in to your MyAT account
  2. select ‘View all cards’ then select the card you want to apply the concession to
  3. select the 'Available products' tab
  4. select 'Apply for a concession'
  5. choose 'SuperGold' from the concession type list
  6. attach a photo of your SuperGold card showing your client number
  7. attach a copy of another form of ID (maximum file size of 10MB)
  8. submit the form.

If you are unable to attach both forms of ID, you can apply in person at a customer service centre or apply by post.

We will email you once your concession is loaded. To activate your concession, you must tag on to public transport within 60 days. If you do not tag on within 60 days, your concession will be cancelled, and you will need to contact us to reactivate it. You will be charged adult fares until the concession is reloaded.

If you want to apply online, you must be the primary account holder. If your gold AT HOP card is registered as a linked account, that is not the primary account, you will not be able to apply online. Visit an AT customer service centre to apply in person or apply by post.

Download and print the concession form (PDF 104KB).

Make sure you have filled in your name, address, SuperGold card client number, your gold AT HOP card number and email address, if you have one.

Include copies of your SuperGold card showing your client number and another form of ID. We cannot load your concession without this proof of eligibility. Please do not include originals.

You must tag on to public transport within 60 days to activate your concession.

You must include a copy of your photo ID with this form, even if you already presented it when you bought your gold AT HOP card. This ensures that only eligible customers get the gold AT HOP card and SuperGold concession. This also helps us prevent identity theft.

Load your concession in person

Once you have registered your gold AT HOP card, you can visit an AT Customer Service Centre. Bring your AT HOP card, SuperGold card and another proof of ID in person, and we will load the concession while you are there. AT HOP retailers are not able to load concessions.

Renew your concession

When your SuperGold concession expires, you can renew it at any AT Customer Service Centre. Present your AT HOP card, SuperGold card and valid ID. Your SuperGold concession will expire when your SuperGold card expires, or after 6 years, whichever comes first.
