How to buy an AT HOP card

You can buy an AT HOP card online or in person. 

• Purchase price: $5 (non-refundable)
• Online: $10 (including $5 credit)
• In person: $5 (with minimum $1 top-up at time of purchase)
• Vending machine: $25 (including $20 credit)

Please note that AT HOP key tags are no longer available for purchase.

Buy an AT HOP card online and get free delivery anywhere in New Zealand. Standard NZ Post shipping may take up to 10 working days.

Please note that you can only buy a gold AT HOP card in person.

In person

Find a HOP retailer near you to buy an AT HOP card or gold AT HOP card in person.

You can also buy HOP cards from vending machines at Auckland Domestic Airport, Downtown ferry terminal and Devonport ferry terminal for $25 ($5 for the card plus $20 credit).

Buy a gold AT HOP card for seniors

Eligible seniors with a SuperGold card need to buy a gold AT HOP card to travel on public transport at discounted rates. 

Please note that you can only buy a gold AT HOP card in person.

It’s a good idea to register your AT HOP card online.

With a registered card, you can:

• top up online
• set up an auto top-up so that you never run out of credit before travelling
• apply for concessions you may be eligible for 
• get your credit refunded if your card is lost or stolen.
