Members of the community have asked us to improve vehicle access along Glengarry Road in Glen Eden.
In some sections, when vehicles are parked on the side of the road it can make it difficult for other traffic to drive through safely. Sometimes drivers, including bus drivers, need to cross the centreline to get down the road. It can also cause visibility issues for people crossing the road.
To improve safety and visibility on Glengarry Road, we are planning to implement some changes.
We’re planning to paint broken yellow lines ("no stopping at all times") on Glengarry Road:
- between number 359 and 355 to improve visibility for the crossings - 2 to 3 parking spaces will be removed.
- between 315 and 313 at the intersection of Nicolas Avenue and Glengarry road - no parking spaces will be removed, since this is already an intersection. The new markings will highlight to drivers that parking is not legally permitted here.
- between 261 and 253 to improve vehicle access, allowing traffic to pass safely without crossing the centreline - approximately 9 parking spaces will be removed.
