Kerbsides and parking in the City Centre

In our city centre, space constraints and competing demands mean kerbside spaces and off-street parking areas are often under pressure. We have looked at how to make the best use of our kerbside spaces. They need to accommodate our diverse community needs, like deliveries, tradespeople, pedestrians, motorists, buses and taxis.

We have created Room to Move in the City Centre — our city centre parking management plan — to help address these pressures and manage our city centre parking resources. This plan includes short-term actions before City Rail Link opens along with some longer-term ideas.
