Key information

KiwiRail teams will improve drainage on the Southern Line, at various locations between Papakura and Puhinui. KiwiRail will also continue with the Third Main Line construction.

Both projects will impact the Southern and Eastern line trains. There will be:

  • Early Ramp Downs on some weeknights, when trains will stop running earlier than usual.
  • Some weekend Blocks of Line when trains will not run.
  • Where possible, Southern line trains will run from Waitematā Station (Britomart) to Manukau via Puhinui station.

Details of the Early Ramp Downs and Weekend Blocks of Line in January and February are listed on the Stage 3b of the Rail Network Rebuild page.
