Ahea? When? From 19 November 2024, lift and escalator replacement works will be carried out at Henderson Station and will limit step free access during this time.

The escalators and lifts at Henderson Station need upgrading and Auckland Transport (AT) will be replacing them one at a time, to ensure our customers can continue to use the station effectively.

  • From Tuesday 19 November 2024 to mid-February 2025, the lift on Railside Avenue will be out of service. The lift on the platform and Council Chambers side of the station will continue to operate.
  • From mid-February to mid-May 2025, the lift on the platform will be out of service. The lift on Railside Avenue and Council Chambers side of the station will continue to operate.
  • From mid-May to mid-August 2025, the lift on the Council Chambers side of the station will be out of service. The lift on the platform and Railside Avenue side of the station will continue to operate.

We understand that the lifts are critical for customers with accessibility needs or pushchairs, customers will experience greater reliability once the lifts and escalators are renewed.

Customers with accessibility needs or require step free access will be able to book a free mobility taxi through our Contact Centre on 09 366 6400.

We advise customers to book in advance of traveling to avoid long wait times.

Alternatively, customers may want to use Sturges Road Station as an alternative during this time.
