Auckland's cycle network map

Use our network of cycle routes to find the right bike journey for you.

Types of routes

  • On-road cycle lanes
These are cycle lanes with no barriers from vehicle traffic on the road.
  • Protected cycle lanes
These are cycle lanes with barriers to separate them from vehicle traffic on the road.
  • Shared paths
These paths are for cycling and walking and usually found in parks.
  • Quiet routes
These are streets and shared zones where traffic is slower.

We're building more cycleways to connect you to your local town centre, public transport, schools and places of work.

Cycle maps by area

Fun bike rides and walks

Whether you're cycling or walking, our paths are a great way to explore Tāmaki Makaurau, with scenic views, historic sites and picnic spots for you to enjoy.

These routes are mostly on shared paths and suitable for all cycling skill levels. Shared paths are for everyone, whether you’re biking, scooting, pushing a pram or just out for a stroll.

When using these paths, be considerate of other people. If you're on a bike or scooter, slow down, give other people room and use your bell to let them know you're nearby.
