Alternative transport during the Rail Network Rebuild
Find out about rail replacement buses you can use while the Rail Network Rebuild project is affecting train services.
On this page
The next stage of the Rail Network Rebuild runs from 27 December 2024 to 2 February 2025 during the summer rail upgrades.
We’re providing:
- rail replacement buses along the affected train routes
- express rail replacement buses direct to major destinations like Britomart and Newmarket.
The Journey Planner will include any service changes and rail replacement buses.
Buses will be busier than usual, especially at peak times. You may wish to travel outside of the peak and get a 10% discount on your fare.
You may also find one of our existing bus routes suits your journey better.
To find out more about the changes and why they're needed, visit About the Rail Network Rebuild.
You can also download the AT Mobile app and subscribe to alerts for your train line. We'll notify you about changes to your line and alternative transport options.
