Important things to know

Total Mobility conditions of use

When you use your Total Mobility card, you agree to travel under the Total Mobility conditions of use. Please read these conditions before using your card for the first time.

Carer support

You can travel with a carer if you need support to make your trip easier. Your carer can be a paid carer, family member or friend.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with the service you receive, raise the issue with the taxi operator first. If you are still unhappy, contact the Auckland Transport call centre on 09 366 6400.

If you plan to lodge a complaint, ask the driver for a receipt. When you lodge your complaint, please provide as much information as possible: the details of what happened, the time, date and cab number. This will make it easier for both the taxi operator and Auckland Transport to investigate the issue.

If your card is lost, stolen or expired

Call our contact centre on 09 366 6400 to cancel a lost, stolen or expired card and request a new one.

You'll receive your replacement card within 2 weeks of placing your request.

Please note you'll be charged full-price fares until your card is replaced.

• Fare starts at $3 (flag fall) plus $2.70 for every kilometre you travel from 5 am to 7 pm Monday to Friday.
• Fare starts at $3 (flag fall) plus $2.90 for every kilometre you travel from 7 pm to 5 am Monday to Friday, at all times on weekends and public holidays.
• Fare starts at $5 (flag fall) plus $3.30 for every kilometre of van hire.
• Fare starts at $5 (flag fall) plus $4 for every kilometre of wheelchair mobility van hire*.
• Taxi waiting time is charged at $0.95 per minute.
• Cleaning soilage is $150.
• Extra charges in addition to metered fare include $3 airport drop off and $5 airport pickup, along with a $20 airport environs fee.

• Minimum fare of $10 applies 24 hours.
• Maxi Van and wheelchair accessible vehicle fare starts at $5 (flag fall) plus $4 for every kilometre you travel 24/7. There is a fee of $11.50 per chair for loading and unloading.
• Taxi waiting time is charged at $0.80 per minute.
• There is a $3 fee for all credit card/EFTPOS payments.
• Cleaning soilage is $100.
• Airport toll $5 for each drop off and $5 for each pickup.
• Baby seat hire $10 per ride.

Corporate Cabs

Corporate Cabs operates in central, north, south, east and west Auckland as well as Pukekohe and Hibiscus Coast.

Fare information

• Fares start at $6.50 (flag fall), with an additional $4.05 (on average) charged for every kilometre you travel. The further you travel, the lower the rate is per kilometre.
• A 10% premium will be added to fares for travel during peak times, which are Monday to Friday 6am to 9:30am and 3pm to 7pm.
• Child seats are charged at $40 per trip.
• Soiling charge is $300.
• Airport surcharge is $8.
• Taxi waiting time is $1 per minute.

Driving Miss Daisy

Driving Miss Daisy operates in central, north, east, south and west Auckland as well as Pukekohe, Hibiscus Coast and Warkworth.

Fare information

Driving Miss Daisy is a pre-quoted service. We use Google Maps to establish the travel distance and time of day to calculate all prices.

Driving Miss Daisy company services provide assistance in and out of the car, going to appointments, shopping and companionship on outings. Special needs are catered for including assistance with a walker or wheelchair.

Our drivers are Dementia Friends and complete advanced driver training. We also have a large number of female drivers available.

All companion services are charged separately.

• Fares start at $3.50 plus $3.50 per kilometre for sedans and wheelchair-accessible vehicles.
• The waiting time for sedans and wheelchair-accessible vehicles is charged per minute.
• The technology fee is $3.
• Wheelchair hoist subsidy is $11.50 per trip.

Our Companion Driving service is based on distance and time. Each service is quoted to specifically cater to your requirements and is quoted in advance so you will know the exact charge.

Freedom Companion Driving Services NZ Limited

Freedom Companion Driving Services NZ Limited operates in central, north, east, south and west Auckland as well as Hibiscus Coast, Pukekohe and Warkworth.

Fare information

Fares are pre booked and pre quoted. Assistance is provided to get in and out of the vehicle and to escort you to and from your appointments. Services can be provided for weekly shopping, trips to the vets and many other excursions.

If required a companion service can be offered, such as a driver taking you into places such as the supermarket and assist you with your tasks. This will be charged separately.

Mobility needs are also catered for, and vehicles can carry walking frames. Wheelchair accessible vehicles are available in some areas of Auckland.

• Our fare is $3 a minute. We use Google maps to calculate your fare.
• Waiting time is charged at $1 per minute, at driver’s discretion.
• There is a $3 Total Mobility booking fee in addition to the fare.

Happy Mobility provide special needs assistance in and out of the van, wheeling clients on wheelchairs to and back from doctor and rehab appointments, shopping and on outings.

• Fares start at $5 (flag fall) plus $5 for every kilometre travelled between 6am and 6pm Monday to Friday.
• Fares start at $5 (flag fall) plus $5.50 for every kilometre travelled between 6pm and 6am Monday to Friday, and all day on weekends and public holidays. 
• Fare for 3 or more wheelchairs in one vehicle or a large van hire or multiple pick-ups and drop-offs is $5 (flag fall) plus $9 for every kilometre.
• Minimum charge after Total Mobility Subsidy is $18.75 Monday to Friday and $20 on weekends and public holidays.
• No extra charge for a support person or family member.
• Waiting time is an extra $1 per minute.
• Airport and seaport pick-up and drop-off charge is $5.
• Cleaning soilage is $100.
