Four new bus stops on Argent Lane will be served

From Sunday 14 April 2024, the 989 bus route will be extended to serve four new bus stops on Argent Lane in Milldale – two near Ahutoetoe School and two near Emma Lane.

  • Stop 4881 - Ahutoetoe School
  • Stop 4888 - Emma Lane
  • Stop 4895 - Emma Lane

The new part of the 989 bus route will serve an area where the construction of new homes was recently completed.

The raised pedestrian crossings on Argent Lane are designed to be safely driven over by buses.

The 989 bus will travel north on Argent Lane to Parish Drive where it will use the roundabout to make a u-turn. It will then travel south on Argent Lane to John Fair Drive where it will turn left. The bus will then travel east on John Fair Drive to Maurice Kelly Road where it will use the roundabout to make a u-turn. It will then return along John Fair Drive to Argent Lane and turn left to continue on to Hibiscus Coast Station.

The route extension is relatively minor, so there will be no changes to the timetable. Customers who currently take the 989 from Hibiscus Coast Station to stops on John Fair Drive will have a slightly longer journey, but this should be by no more than five minutes.

AT will continue to extend the 989 bus route as various construction projects in Milldale are completed. From Friday 12 April you can use the AT Mobile app or AT’s Journey Planner to plan your journey.
