Road Status: open, single lane with stop/go traffic management

Construction started on 24 June 2024 and should be complete by September 2024. The repair consists of a 45-metre-long retaining wall with steel piles.

The road will be restricted to one lane, and about 200 metres of road around the slip will be affected. Stop/go traffic management will be in place during construction hours, from 7am to 7pm. A traffic light system will operate after hours.

A new slip has been identified following the rain on 24 February. This slip is currently under investigation.

  • Opposite Waitai Road, half cycle lane/footpath taken out by extensive under slip
  • Retaining wall completed
