Bus stops are changing on Wellesley Street Wellesley Street Bus Changes

Changes are coming to bus services frequenting Wellesley Street from Sunday 19 April, with the introduction of new bus stops between Queen Street and the Albert Street/Mayoral Drive intersection.

New bus stops opening on Wellesley Street

From 19 April 2026, buses will begin using the following new bus stops on Wellesley Street West, located between Queen Street and the Albert Street / Mayoral Drive intersection:

  •   · Stop 7232 – The Civic Stop A
    Routes NX2, 82, 802 and 923 (towards the North Shore)

  •       Stop 7001 – The Civic Stop B
    Routes NX2, 82, 802 and 923 (away from the North Shore)

  •       Stop 7086 – The Civic Stop C
    Routes 22N, 22R, 24B, 24R, 75, 101 and OuterLink

  •       Stop 7021 – The Civic Stop D
    Routes 22N, 22R, 24B, 24R, 75, 101 and OuterLink

Bus stops closing

The following bus stops will close from 19 April 2026:

  • Stop 7041 - Wellesley Street/Federal Street (opposite 54 Wellesley Street West
  • Stop 7040 - Wellesley Street/Hobson Street (opposite SkyCity)
  • Stop 1332 - SkyCity Auckland (outside 54 Wellesley Street West)
  • Stop 1094 - Lorne Street (Wellesley Street East, between Lorne Street and Kitchener Street).

Bus stop relocation

Bus Stop 7076 - Stop E Te Waihorotiu Station will move from Albert Street (between Victoria Street and Wellesley Street, outside the Crowne Plaza Hotel) to a new location on Mayoral Drive, outside the Te Waihorotiu Station entrance.

 

What this means for you

If you catch any of the NX2, OuterLink, 22N, 22R, 24B, 24R, 75, 101, 802, 923 or 924 services from one of these closing or relocated stops, be sure to check that you’re at the correct new location before boarding your bus from April 19.
