Beach Haven pontoon upgrade

We’re upgrading the pontoon at Beach Haven Wharf. The upgrade will enable a wider range of ferries to berth, including new electric and electric-hybrid ferries. Find out more about Auckland’s new ferries.

Beach Haven Wharf will be closed for around 8 weeks while we complete the work. We need to close it because while we work there will not be enough space for ferries to safely tie up while passengers get off or on. Closing the wharf means we can get our work done faster and shorten the disruption time for commuters.

Our contractors will work from 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and Saturdays where required. All work will happen on the existing pontoon structure, with some assembly being done off-site.
