Waikowhai Road, Mount Roskill

June 2024

Road status: closed – resident access only

Construction work began on 29 April and should be complete by early July.

To repair the slip, the construction team are building a concrete retaining wall. They stabilised the road with 30 soil nails before pouring concrete over the top.

The parks and boat ramp carpark will reopen in early July.

Road closure

Waikowhai Road, Hillsborough is currently closed. 

Once Auckland Council have finished their project within the park, normal public access will be reinstated, with yield traffic management in place. The signs are already up (see attached photos). There is no timeframe on slip remediation presently.

Paritai Drive, Ōrākei 

Road status: open

 June 2024

A monitoring device installed takes fortnightly measurements to see if any movement is detected in the slip.

Monitoring will continue throughout winter.
