Big Street Bikers is the winner of the Innovative Thinker award from the Travelwise Choices Awards 2020.

Warm weather is on its way and while many of us will be using the rays to get a tan, Big Street Bikers will be using it for something else. This talented team have created a solar powered service station for e-bikes and named it 'The Rechargery'.

The Rechargery isn't your typical looking bike spot. Its first point of difference is that it's bright pink and chrome, a design tactic to encourage everyone in who might normally be wary of setting foot in a bike shop.

The second point of difference is that The Rechargery is solar-powered, making it the perfect spot to recharge your e-bike.

Big Street Bikers created the Rechargery to help educate and encourage local businesses and people to give e-biking a go, and their results have been electric.

In the last 12 months, the Rechargery has provided over 30 guided e-bike tours for local businesses and has had over 1,000 people take an e-bike test ride or hire.

Big Street Bikers use the Rechargery to run public programs and to give people a place where they can go to become more confident on a bike and to experience the thrill of e-biking. It's clear that e-biking will be a big part of the future.

Big Street Bikers are leading the charge and that is why they are the winner of the Innovative Thinker award of 2020.
