We've proposed changes in your area
In August 2019 we proposed P120 parking restrictions operating Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm on Dalmeny Close, Mairangi Bay. Our proposal responded to a request from the local community to address concerns that these spaces are occupied consistently throughout the day, during the week.

Why the changes are needed
The proposed parking restrictions are expected to greatly improve parking availability on Dalmeny Close by restricting parking during these periods to two hours only.
Proposal outcome
The proposed changes will proceed to the next stage of detailed planning before being implemented. Thank you to everyone who responded to our proposal and gave us the chance to better understand your community and concerns. A summary of your feedback and our responses to community questions is below.
Community feedback
- Many respondents supported the proposal, noting that the new short-term parking restriction will increase available parking for residents and visitors during weekdays.
Thank you for the support. We hope the new restrictions will resolve the current parking concerns. - Concern that under the new restrictions, these parking spaces will no longer be convenient for residents, guests, or tradespeople.
We have received multiple requests to improve parking opportunities along the parking bay. Currently, any vehicles can park in these unrestricted spaces for extended periods of time. By adding the new parking restrictions, there will be more available parking for short term stayers like visitors or tradespeople. It is also important to note that these P120 restrictions are only in effect on weekdays between 8am and 6pm. Effectively, this means that visitors and residents can park freely from 4pm to 10am. - Request to increase proposed parking restrictions to include weekends.
This proposal responds to a request from the community to address an issue with consistently occupied spaces during business hours. We do not consider weekend parking to pose an issue at this stage, and will not increase the parking restriction to include weekends. - Concern that cars waiting to make school pickups enter the road and block entry for residents.
Broken yellow lines parking restrictions are currently installed along most of the road. We recommend regularly reporting any infringements to our parking enforcement call centre, which operates 24 hours, 7 days a week: 09 355 3553. - Concern that the road is too narrow for two-way traffic.
The road is considered wide enough for two standard vehicles to pass each other, given they drive at an appropriate speed. As parking is prohibited on most parts of the road, there should be no obstructions along the route. We recommend regularly reporting any infringements to our parking enforcement call centre, which operates 24 hours, 7 days a week: 09 355 3553.
Next steps
