We've proposed changes in your area

In August 2019, we proposed broken yellow lines parking restrictions on Mcvilly Road in Manurewa. Our proposal responded to a request from the Manurewa Local Board. The Board raised the issue with Auckland Transport on behalf of an employee who worked on the street. The employee was concerned about cars parking on the narrow road creating accessibility issues.

Why the changes are needed

Currently vehicles are parking on both sides of this narrow road, making it difficult for other vehicles to safely pass. The changes are expected to improve access, especially for larger vehicles.

Proposal outcome

The proposed broken yellow lines will proceed to the next stage of detailed planning before being painted on the road.

Community feedback

Respondents acknowledged that the proposed broken yellow lines would provide better access for emergency services accessing properties on the road. We are happy to hear that out proposal has been received positively by the community.

Next steps

These works are planned by November 2019, but we will let you know if there are further changes or delays. Our contractors will send notices to affected residents 48-hours prior to construction starting.
