We are proposing to install a new footpath on Oue Road in Oneroa.

Why the changes are needed

These changes include additional crossing facilities and will improve pedestrian connections between the Oneroa shops and the walkway to Mako Street.

​Proposal outcome

This project will not proceed to the next stage of detailed planning. A summary of the community feedback we received and answers to questions and concerns is below.

Feedback received

  • Request for Auckland Transport to repair the road that has been damaged as a result of storms, instead of building a new footpath. Because the request does not relate directly to our proposal, it has been referred to the relevant team in Auckland Transport who will investigate further. Based on this feedback, the project will not be going ahead.
  • Upgrade the road, kerbing, footpaths, stormwater and signage, and provide a detailed plan for both sides of Oue Road. Because the request does not relate directly to our proposal, it has been referred to the relevant team in Auckland Transport who will investigate further. Due to a lack of support, this footpath project will be cancelled.

Next steps

The proposed works have been cancelled, and will not be implemented on Oue Road.​
