Why the changes are needed

These changes are needed to provide better accessibility for emergency service vehicles and rubbish trucks, as well as improving pedestrian safety on the shared path.

Proposal outcome

This project will proceed without changes to the next stage of detailed planning. A summary of the community feedback we received and answers to questions and concerns is below.

Feedback received

  • Non-residents often park on the street and walk to their destination. This causes congestion and makes parking very difficult for residents. It has been requested that resident permit parking is introduced between Monday and Friday to combat this. Eden Terrace (including Bright Street) has been identified as a suburb with high parking demand and is on our waiting list for works to be included in the 2018/2019 programme. We will be going ahead with the residential parking zone in this area. We can confirm we will be going ahead with the residential parking zone in this area. However, we have not yet finalised the streets that will be covered in the residential parking zone yet, this will be assessed and confirmed once the project starts in October this year.
Auckland Transport will be in touch with all concerned parties in October.

Next steps

We will be in touch with affected residents in October. This work will happen in between July 2018 and June 2019, but we will let you know if there are further changes or delays.

Our contractors will send notices to affected residents 48-hours prior to construction starting.
