Proposal outcome

In February 2022, we proposed to implement paid parking along St Vincent Avenue to improve parking availability in response to requests we received from the Remuera Business Association.

After reviewing all the feedback, we have decided not to proceed with the proposed works. Our Parking Compliance Team will be monitoring this area closely with the aim of alleviating the existing parking availability issues.

Thank you to all those who submitted feedback, you helped us to make this decision for your neighbourhood.

Proposal update

Our proposal received a range of feedback that highlighted how important parking along St Vincent Avenue is to the local community.

The process of reviewing the feedback has taken longer than anticipated. We aim to publish an overview of it, and the outcome of the proposal, on this webpage in the next couple of months.

We thank everyone for sending us feedback and apologise for this delay. We will be back in contact as soon as possible.

We're proposing improvements in your area

Listening to what you have to say is important to us. Your local knowledge can help us make better decisions, so that together, we can achieve the best outcomes for your neighbourhood.

We are proposing to:

  • Implement a new paid parking restriction to replace all existing time-restricted parking on St Vincent Avenue. The restrictions will be in place from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday. Parking will cost $2 per hour. There will be 10 minutes of grace time, which means that no payment is required for the first 10 minutes of parking.
All existing mobility parking spaces, loading zones, and broken yellow lines (no stopping at all times) will remain unchanged.

We would like to work with you to deliver a more effective parking layout in your neighbourhood. We have received requests to improve parking availability in the area. We have carried out parking occupancy surveys to understand parking usage in the area.

These surveys showed a high current demand for and usage of parking. To improve parking turnover and flexibility, we are proposing to replace all existing time restricted parking with paid parking. The 10-minute grace time will provide for short-term parking for quick pick-ups and drop-offs.
