We're proposing changes in your area
We are proposing to extend the No stopping at all times restrictions (broken yellow lines) on both sides of Clark Road leading up to its intersection with Great South Road, in Papakura.
Why the changes are needed
These changes are needed to improve the traffic flow of vehicles entering Clark Road from Great South Road, and reduce the likelihood of car queueing and waiting on Great South Road during peak times.
This project will proceed without changes to the next stage of detailed planning. Thank you to everyone who submitted feedback. A summary of this feedback and answers to community questions and concerns is below.
- This proposal received positive responses from community members and stakeholders who supported this safety improvement on their street.
- Customer has never seen any queuing on Clark Road or Great South Road.
Our site observations have confirmed the issue of vehicles queuing back onto Great South Road during peak periods due to parked vehicles on Clark Road near the intersection. The proposed No stopping at all times restrictions (broken yellow lines) are intended to improve safety and operation efficiency.
- Please sort the intersection of Elliot and Beach Road.
This request falls outside of the scope of this project but will be given consideration in due course.
This work will happen before June 2019 and we will let you know if there are further changes or delays. Our contractors will send notices to affected residents 48-hours prior to construction starting.
