Completed slip repair sites

The following is a list of recently completed slip sites on Aotea, Great Barrier Island. Our thanks go to everyone in these communities for your patience and understanding as we made necessary repairs and restored safe connections.

Road status:

26 June 2025

We expect to complete the very last of the slip repairs on Great Barrier Island by 30 June 2025.

6 June 2025

Slip repair work on Shoal Bay Road started on 26 May 2025. We expect it to take about one month to complete. We will put in rock revetment protection here. The work involves rock placement to restore and strengthen the slope.

9 May 2025

Slip repairs are expected to begin once work on Aotea Road is completed. This should be around June 2025.

18 December 2024

One slip site is left to be repaired. We expect to complete repairs in 2025.
