Road slip following recent rainfall.
What is closed:
One Lane closed to Northbound traffic - Priority give way in place -Traffic Lights on-site -VMS Board advising caution Weather event 28/02/23
- One lane closed due to a historic under slip that has experienced additional movement with recent rainfall
- Approximately 10 meters of concrete edge beam affected
- Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) is in place to move traffic away from the left-hand wheel track
- Situation being monitored
Where is this repair at:
A permanent solution will be programmed following a geotechnical assessment
How long will it take to repair?
Approximately 3 months following a geotechnical assessment has been completed, outlining the methodology and timing including traffic management.
Wharf Road, Ostend, Waiheke

Geotechnical work is scheduled for July, followed by preparation of a remediation design report in August. Once this has been completed we will move into construction phase which could take up to 8 weeks
Road status: Open but down to one lane

Road slip following recent rainfall.
What is closed:
- One lane closed. Single lane through section of the slip
- The slip is located opposite Waitai Road, half the cycle lane/footpath taken out due to the extensive under slip of the slope
- Geotechnical Engineer recommended closing lane to move cyclists and pedestrians over and keep safe
Where is this repair at:
- Teams are trimming trees to clear the area of debris and cones are installed to show no access to the path.
- A permanent solution and methodology for repairs will be identified programmed following a geotechnical assessment.
How long will it take to repair?
- Approximately 1 to 3 months following a geotechnical assessment has been completed, outlining the methodology and timing including traffic management
40 Hekerua Road, Little Oneroa, Waiheke

Road slip following recent rainfall.
What is closed:
- Single lane through section of the slip, reduced to one way traffic
- The road has a steep drop off with properties below road level
- The maintenance contractor is monitoring the slip face daily
- No new cracks or signs of subsidence have re occurred
Where is this at:
Temporary works undertaken to date include:
- An asphalt bund built to divert surface water
- Current risk to road is from steep head scarp
- Teams are trimming trees to clear the area of debris and cones are installed to show no access to the path
Permanent repair works
- A permanent solution and methodology for repairs will be identified programmed following a Geotech assessment methodology and timing including traffic management
How long will it take to repair?
- Approximately 3-5 months
