In October 2019, we proposed to convert the shuttle parking restriction on Hardinge Street in Central City into a P5 loading zone and motorcycle parking.

Why the changes are needed
This proposal responded to a request from local businesses that the shuttle restriction is no longer used, and a loading zone is required on the street. We also proposed to use the remaining space for motorcycle parking, due to a high demand for this facility in the city.
This proposal is expected to make better use of on-street parking space on Hardinge Street.

The proposed changes will proceed to the next stage of detailed planning before being implemented. Community feedback
- All respondents supported the proposal, noting that the new loading zone and motorcycle parking are much needed in the area.
Thank you for the support. We are confident that these parking changes will make better use of the parking space on Hardinge Street. - Suggestion that some motorcycle parking could be allocated for bicycles.

Next steps
These works are planned between March and May 2020, but we will let you know if there are further changes or delays. Our contractors will send notices to affected residents 48-hours prior to construction starting.
