Mills Lane, Auckland Central - P5 loading zone Mills Lane, Auckland Central - P5 loading zone
Proposal status: updated 24 June 2019
Reference number: RTV-225
We proposed changes in your area
We proposed installing a 15 metre P5 loading zone (at all times) on Mills Lane in Auckland Central.

Why the changes were needed
These changes were needed to improve loading and servicing opportunities in the area. Currently there are two existing Loading zones on Mills Lane, however there is a high demand for loading opportunities in this area.
Proposal outcome
This project will not be proceeding to the next stage of detailed planning. Public consultation has confirmed that there is a vehicle lift opposite the proposed location of the loading zone. This means that the proposed loading zone would potentially obstruct vehicles using this lift, making the proposal untenable.

Feedback received
- Request for confirmation regarding whether there will be a Mills Lane redevelopment, as a variation of the CRL works. To the best of our knowledge there are no plans to redevelop the section of Mills Lane which runs parallel to Albert Street. There are plans for some changes on the section which joins Albert Street. These changes include indented parking, and footpath improvements.
- Received a query if the 'Cars only beyond this point' sign situated on the northern entrance of Mills Lane is meant to be there. This signage is approved and prohibits heavy vehicles from using a short section of Mills Lane, from the sign onwards, heading to Albert Street.
