We've proposed changes in your area
In December 2019, we proposed to install a footpath on Hudson Road in Warkworth. Our proposal responded to a request from the Rodney Local Board to provide a walking connection between the existing footpaths on Albert Road and State Highway 1 (SH1). The proposal was in anticipation of a new Pak N Save development and a Park and Ride in the area. The proposal aims to improve pedestrian safety by providing a footpath to these new developments.
The Rodney Local Board has requested this footpath as part of their larger vision to expand the existing footpath network in Warkworth.
Changes proposed on Hudson Road
- Three new retaining walls along the footpath.
- New streetlights to be installed.
- Removal of up to 28 trees, including 12 protected trees, to make room for the footpath.
- Approximately 30 new trees to be planted along the footpath.
- Upgrades to the stormwater network.
- Reconstruction of driveways where required.
Please be assured that our contractors will speak directly with property owners where driveway or stormwater facilities are affected.
