Why the changes are needed
This proposal responds to concerns from residents that parked vehicles cause limited visibility on the street and makes accessing properties difficult. These parking changes are expected to improve access for all cars and emergency vehicles, by restricting parking to one side only.
Proposal outcome
The proposed changes will proceed to the next stage of detailed planning before being painted on the road. Thank you to everyone who responded to our proposal and gave us the chance to better understand your community and concerns. A summary of your feedback and our responses to community questions is below.
Community feedback
Many respondents supported the proposal, noting that the new parking restrictions will improve safety and access to driveways.
Thank you for the support. We expect the new restrictions will improve visibility and access to properties on the street.
- Suggestion to mark one of the corners of the intersection of Pukatea Avenue and Bushlands Park Drive with No Stopping At All Times, as this area gets reduced to a single lane with cars parked on both sides and reduces visibility. We have received a number of other requests regarding Bushlands Park Drive. We will look further into this intersection during our investigations of Bushlands Park Drive in 2020.
Next steps
These works are planned between March and May 2020, but we will let you know if there are further changes or delays.
Our contractors will send notices to affected residents 48-hours prior to construction starting.
