Why the changes are needed
These changes are needed to complete a gap in the footpath network between Cross Street and Sutton Crescent. The proposal will enable safer walking journeys, particularly between key destinations such as Rollerson Park and the bus stops along Sheehan Avenue.
Proposal outcome
This project will proceed without changes to the next stage of detailed planning. Thank you to everyone who submitted feedback. A summary of this feedback and answers to community questions and concerns is below.
Feedback received
- This proposal received positive responses from community members and stakeholders who supported the new pedestrian facilities.
- You only appear to be providing an upgrade for part of one side of the street. I would like to see the whole street upgraded to make it a more attractive street to live in. Thank you for your feedback. This upgrade consists of adding a footpath to the only section of the street remaining which currently does not have a footpath. Once this section is complete, the entire street would have footpaths, and the street will be a more attractive place to walk.
Next steps
This work will happen before the end of June 2019, but we will let you know if there are further changes or delays.
Our contractors will send notices to affected residents 48-hours prior to construction starting.
