    Date: 19 June 2023 Within the next 12 months Auckland Transport (AT) will introduce easier payment options across all of Auckland’s buses, trains, and ferries.   This will enable customers to tag on and off with contactless payments (debit/credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay) alongside the current AT HOP card. The changes will apply to full fare paying adults. Those wanting to access concession discounts such as Tertiary and SuperGold will still need to use their HOP card as normal

  • Over 20,000 Aucklanders make use of $50 public transport deal

    Date: 14 October 2024 In the 12 weeks since Auckland Transport introduced their $50 seven-day fare cap, over 20,000 Aucklanders have made use of the deal. It’s part of a wide range of initiatives AT is rolling out to encourage Aucklanders to mix their go and get on board public transport. Others include contactless payments and improving bus priority at traffic lights. The fare cap means that travel on AT buses, trains and inner harbour ferries is capped at $50 over seven days.   • Public transport fares are changing for under 25 year olds from Wednesday 01 May

    Date: 26 March 2024 Free travel on Auckland Transport (AT) services for 5 to 12 year olds and half-price travel for 13 to 24 year olds will end on 30 April 2024, in line with the government’s decision to withdraw funding for these concessions.    These changes will impact around 200,000 of our registered HOP card users.    AT’s Group Manager of Growth & Optimisation, Richard Harrison says that many under 25’s will qualify for alternative concessions – such as child, secondary, tertiary

  • Extension of Meola Road closure expected to bring forward completion date by 6-8 weeks, save up to $400,000 in construction costs and allow faster travel time

    Date: 08 February 2024 Auckland Transport’s Director of Infrastructure and Place, Murray Burt is reassuring local residents that the decision to extend the full closure of Meola Road for an additional 10-12 weeks will reduce the time to complete the works by up to two months (delivering a saving of up to $400,000) and minimise the overall disruption felt by the community.
